Nehemiah Persoff (Born In 1919) – The Untouchables

Nehemiah Persoff served in the U.S. Army during the Second War. Before pursuing a professional acting career, he earned money as a subway electrician. Actress Elia Kazan trained him as an actor when he joined the Actors Studio in the late ‘40s.

He is well known for appearing in “The Harder They Fall,” “Some Like It Hot,” and “The Untouchables.” Persoff retired by 1999 and shifted his time and attention to a painting career. In 2021, his wife Thia passed away. They were in a lovely marriage for about seven decades.
