Sophia Loren (Born In 1934) – Two Women
Joining a beauty pageant led Sophia Loren to take acting classes. After several years of minor roles, she started catching international attention in the late ‘50s. In 1961, she won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in “Two Women.”
Her win was iconic because it was the first time someone had won an Academy Award for a movie in English. Loren’s other notable parts were in “Marriage Italian Style” and “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” She became less active by the ‘80s but occasionally added new credits to her portfolio. She starred in “The Life Ahead” in 2020.
