Looney Toons? No, It’s Called Looney Tunes!
When one hears of the Looney Tunes, one immediately thinks of toons (an informal noun referring to a cartoon character or film). However, the iconic animated series produced by Warner Bros. was always called Looney “Tunes” (as in “a melody”) instead of Looney “Toons.”
Considering that Looney Tunes made its debut in 1930 and probably gave way to the expression “toons,” it’s not hard to see why so many people have fallen victim to the Mandela effect in this particular instance.
