Some cases of the Mandela effect exist not because of misspelled company names, but because some people just say the name of certain companies wrong. Skechers, which so many footwear fans read as “SkeTchers,” is perhaps the most famous example.
Founded in 1992 and popularized during the Grunge boom of the ’90s, Skechers is the third-largest footwear brand in the United States. Based in Manhattan Beach, California, Skechers started as a small street-shoes company and is now a gigantic corporation with more than 11K employees.
