In 2012, he revealed to the Daily Mail that he and the 16th President of the United States, Abe Lincoln, are related. It turned out that the actor’s mother was Nancy Hanks, who shares a family tree as an in-law with Lincoln.
This issue caused some controversy and complications as everyone was talking about it. Luckily, the Ancestry.com genealogists intervened, performed more research, and confirmed that the “Saving Mr. Banks” star is actually the former President’s third cousin, four times removed.
